and where the wish to create a space for connection and rest came from
and where do we find it?
A pause is not something grand or complicated. It is a moment you create to let your body and mind settle again. A pause can take many forms. It can be a small stretch, a visit to a concert, soaking in a warm bath, lying in quiet, reading a book, a long talk with a close friend, dancing by yourself or simply letting your eyes rest from the screen. A pause is a space you can create anywhere and at any time. Alone or together with others.
Let me share you a bit of my story

PAUS was born from a wish to create something I myself needed. I needed a space where it felt easy to simply be, to meet others and to recover. Before that, I worked in a place I had once dreamed of. The work had meaning and the mission felt close to my heart. Yet with time the joy I once felt slowly faded and turned into sadness and tiredness. I did not know how to help myself and stepping away for a while seemed like the only option.
After a longer pause I realised that even in the most inspiring work we still need regular moments for ourselves. Good results and real joy do not come from constantly doing more. They come when we allow ourselves to stop. My escape was an unconscious attempt to give myself that pause. And in that quiet moment the wish to share this understanding with others started to grow. A wish to take, again and again, one simple PAUS together.
When I was nineteen, I lost a close friend. It was one of the most painful experiences of my life and for years it stayed inside me as confusion. In many ways it still does. Only much later I understood that one of the reasons behind her passing was loneliness and the feeling of not belonging. It was not something sudden. It had been there for years.
Over time I have seen the same feeling in many people around me and also in myself.Movement has been my anchor for many years now. Through dance I feel joy and a sense of freedom. When I dance with kind people around me, that feeling only grows stronger. At the same time I saw from my friends that the style of dance that works for me does not work for everyone. This is where the wish came from to create something more accessible and calm. A way to support health while still giving space to meet, to move and to rest in a way that leaves no one feeling left out.

PAUS is not a personal brand. It is a way of thinking and a practice that grows through the people who choose to share it. If you feel called to shape this journey together, whether through ideas, skills, support or simply by being present, you are welcome to write to kaidi@paus.studio
